Missy Glow Birth Collective

Meet Your Doula Miriam

Hi, I’m Miriam, a certified Calgary doula and the heart behind Missy Glow Birth Collective. My journey into birth doula services in Calgary and surrounding areas began with my own transformative experience of becoming a mother—an event that revealed just how many families face childbirth without the right emotional, physical, and informational support.

I founded Missy Glow Birth Collective to ensure that every birthing person in Calgary, Airdrie, Red Deer, and Central Alberta has access to compassionate, informed care. Whether you’re preparing for a natural birth, seeking a VBAC doula in Calgary, or looking for dedicated postpartum doula support, I’m here to walk beside you every step of the way.

With over two years of hands-on experience and certifications through DONA International in Birth Doula Support, Breastfeeding, and Postpartum Care, I offer evidence-based guidance tailored to your needs. My background in biosciences and paramedical care allows me to bring both calm confidence and heartfelt compassion—holding space for your birth preferences, your instincts, and your story.

My Philosophy

Birth is powerful—and so are you.

At Missy Glow Birth Collective, I believe that your birth experience should reflect your voice, your vision, and your values. My role is to support you with honesty, integrity, and deep respect. Whether you want to give birth at home with minimal interventions, in a hospital with an epidural, or are seeking a VBAC doula in Calgary or Central Alberta, I’m here to hold space for you.

I offer 24/7 support, reassurance, and reliable care. My clients appreciate my calm presence, nurturing energy, and ability to advocate for their birth experience.

How Do I Support You?

Physically, Emotionally, & Informationally

Physically

Physically
Physical support plays a crucial role in helping the mother maintain a sense of control, comfort, and confidence during labor.
It may involve:
Providing soothing touch through massage, counter pressure, or the use of a rebozo.
Assisting in creating a calming and peaceful environment.
Applying warmth or cold as needed for relief.

Emotionally

Emotional support is essential for helping the mother feel cared for, fostering a sense of pride and empowerment after birth.

It may involve:

Offering reassurance.
Providing encouragement.
Giving praise.
Respecting and accepting the birthing person’s choices.

Informationally

Informational support helps keep the mother and partner informed about the course of labor, providing them with evidence-based options for the birthing process.

It may include:

Recommending techniques to use during labor.
Providing evidence-based information and resources.
Explaining medical procedures before or as they happen.
Assisting the partner in understanding what is happening during their loved one’s labor.
